    FMC is for people without a lot of time in their hands. Slim down version of FM.
    Only 3 playable nations allowed.
    Training duties reduced, no need for individual training.
    Interaction with media is kept to a minimum.
    Match day: no opposition instructions, straight into the action and only highlights mode.
    Completely redesigned user interface.
    In theory you should be able to complete a season in-game in less than 10 hours.

Football Manager 2013 Video Blogs: FM Classic 4 - Challenges (English version)

Introducing challenge mode for the first time in PC/Mac edition.
You can still choose the club you want to manage, but you find yourself in a particular short term situation.
Fixed time to achieve your challenge goal, usually half a season. Not easy to complete.
FMC comes with 5 built-in challenges. Top division underdog, the saviour cometh, injury crisis, the invincibles and you can't win anything with kids.
4 of 5 challenges are free to play, the 5th can be purchased for a small fee.
Sports Interactive will introduce new challenges throughout the course of the season.
Separate leaderboards for each challenge
